Who is Lou?
Named after Lou Gehrig, Lou is the friendly, cuddly face we see in our office every day. He reminds us of the compassion we aim to show every family we serve.
Lou represents the heart of our recordable bear program—helping preserve voices and memories for families impacted by ALS. He’s a sweet reminder that love can be held, heard, and never forgotten.

ALS in the Heartland provides both voice recorders (which hold up to 20 seconds of audio) and a variety of stuffed animals (pictured with Lou!) for families who wish to capture and preserve a loved one’s voice.
